And I wonder how many times you've sat in your fundemental bunker watching the price slide against you wondering WHY???. By the time you found out you had either given away a large portion of your profits or were sitting on a nice loss. Anyone who uses TA should use it in conjuncture with the fundamentals but to ignore either is to go through life using one eye instead of two. You'll think your seeing fine until you get blindsided. IMHO

Paul and all...I feel compelled to comment here with respect to TA. I have found that there are really three groups of people 1)those who use only TA to make their decisions 2)those who use only fundamental analysis and 3)those who use anything and everything available to them which includes TA and Fundamental analysis. I personally believe that in the final analysis, those who use both will probably come out ahead of those in the first two categories. If one is a long term investor only he can probably get away with only using FA. But even then I still think that there will be times when TA can give you a strong sell signal and save you from watching your profits deteriorate or your newly purchased stock turn into a loss on day one. One thing I have found where TA is very helpful is that it seems as if the big money always has access to info before I do. This is often reflected by TA. Also, if anyone is going to do any type of trading I can't see how they can be successful without using TA. I guess what I am saying is that I think there is a place for everything. I fall into the third category where I am trying to use everything available to me. Since I was new to all this less than a year ago, I think I simply approached it all with an open mind so am not predisposed to either method. Though I will say that initially the only thing I knew was FA and adding TA has helped me quite alot.
