We had a generation where 50% had their standard of living decline as the richest of the rich took more money and more power away from the 50%. At the same time, China saw its middle class grow in wealth beyond its wildest dreams. One country is ascending while the other is descending. Such is the nature of things. Republicans value their party above all else (look at the farmer who gave us his farm so Trump would make war with China). China values merit. It's easy to see why we're declining.
