Fred - Regarding Kurlak

Didn't Kurlak have Intel pegged for $0.86 last quarter?

I haven't heard him offer up an explanation as to WHY HE WAS SO FRIGGIN' WRONG - when Intel came in at $0.98!

Wall Street trashes a stock when a company "misses their quarter". They don't seem to get too excited when they COMPLETELY BLOW their own forecasts!

Well Fred it looks like your prediction is coming true. Just when AMD starts to look like they might make some decent money. Intel raises the bar, crashes the price and squeezes them tight.

I wonder if they don't do this on purpose just to keep the feds off their back?

I hear there are all kinds of conspiracies floating around these days. :-)

Fred, Re: <<the current uptrend feels very much like when we were coming out of the fall 95-96 spring malaise>>

I feel the same way. Remember that in the fall of 95, the old high had been reached in July 95 and it took until summer 96 to top it. It was after that that it climbed for the next six months almost non-stop.

The underestimation of Intel's 1996 performance and the beginnings of the realization that the underestimate was incorrect by the public served as one of the forces propelling the price upward in that period.

After all the negativity of the last 6 months behind us and with all the good news from Intel and the others like Compaq and Dell lately, it may be that the tide has turned. Sooner or later it was bound to. Better sooner than later - but it appears inevitable to me.
