Contest picks... HQ (Hambrecht and Quist) and KLA Tencor (KLAC) are my picks to surpass Ascend. I expect ASND at 40-45 at most, unless we get totally explosive 1Q, while I am looking for a takeout of HQ at more than 40 and a move out of KLAC from 35-40 to 60. Not much enthusiasm about other tech stocks. My third and fourth picks would be the mutual funds Rydex Nova RYNVX and Rydex Ursa RYURX, which are the equivalent of 150% of the swing in the S%P 500 (Nova) and -100% (Ursa) of the S%P 500. In a down market, Ursa may well beat Ascend, however perversely, while in an up market Nova would also. Good luck, Matt
