Yes...the media reported that armed guards were asking for id for residents to get to their homes and businesses, and that they were also asking for protection money.... yesterday, the police chief said there have been zero complaints registered with the police over anything like that. Panda and I bicycled up to check out the autonomous zone....it looked like a street fair, and the businesses is the area say it's been a great thing for them. Sounds like the demonstrators and city officials are talking about a way to cut the police budget by half, and using the saving for social service needs. Works for me!
