This is a new awakening as the human species transitions from living in a world of myths, to living in an existential world of humanity based on science and logic. What is going on now is as important an event as when humans settled down 15,000 years ago and started their inexorable march toward the much more humane world we live in today. All the 800 lb gorillas in the room we have never looked at very hard are at last being looked at e.g.: People seem to just now be realizing the confederacy and its generals were involved in treason, they were traitors and worse their treason was to keep slaves. How nuts is that? And so why would we be celebrating them with statues?? Or the churches of the world involved in full blown misogyny and homophobia and they are supposed to be the moral leaders? How does that work when the rank and file are ahead of them morally? But the folks today and especially the kids and women are seeing the reality of the nonsense of primitive norms and mores that protect that bigotry and and are starting to do something about it en masse.
