Mindmeld,
How many photo ops did we have to put up with during the 8 years of the Obama administration? No one complained about it then.
To be sure, that photo op of Trump at the church was an unforced error.

It's not the fact that Trump did a photo op. Of course most presidents do photo ops.

Instead, it was the heavy-handed tactics used to get to the church. Trump has the power and the legal authority to use them, but for what reason?

And his use of the military (which I learned was different than the states using the National Guard) went against deeply seated traditions.

All that just to pose for the camera with a Bible in hand. And he didn't even bother to pray. Not even in front of the cameras.

Yeah, this was not Trump's finest moment, and the media didn't have to exaggerate how stupid this move was.

Its not the photo op - that;s just politics. It was the violent clearing of peaceful protesters that was wrong. Coupled with his demand to "dominate the streets" and use military tanks against peaceful protesters like his heroes did at Tiananmen Square. I'm glad the military pushed back on those demands. This is AMERICA. Take your anti-American intolerance and go to Russia, Cuba, VZ or someplace where they go for that stuff.
