Swoopy indeed :)
I believe it was under construction when we visited Seattle. We stayed in a motel on the north side of town, and while we were getting ready to have dinner at the Needle Restaurant, there was an earth tremor.
My wife felt it, but since I was in the shower, I was blissfully unaware... boy was I mad that I missed the
earth tremor. So when we were at dinner, I mentioned the earth tremor to the waiter, who was Egyptian and he went into a colorful description on being on the Space Needle during a tremor.
We were thru Seattle once since then but it was Vancouver-Ferry-Vancouver-Island- Ferry- Seattle Airport, so we missed the Experience/EMP museum. I hear it is quite a place.

One more awesome Seattle area experience: A Mount Rainier picnic with the snow line right next to meadows of blooming wildflowers.. that was pretty unforgettable. That was a long time ago.. probably 1975.
