Yes, in the past bits and pieces were left at the road construction yards along the way.
Like asphalt making plants, oil drums and such.

Nowadays there are rules to remove them as well value of scrap is higher.

Anyway the buys didn't rust away because of the climate cold and dry (I suppose). In other parts of the world would have gone into rust.

Everyday I look and at the NHC nothing going on. Unless one reads the media outlets
