Some background info on COW's: The government of Indonesia realizes that they need the financing and technical expertise of foreign companies in order to develop the natural resources known to exist in Indonesia. On the other hand they do not want to be exploited by those foreign companies. So a program was established by President Suharto known as a "Contract of Work" or COW for short. The very first one was developed for Freeport and is known as the 1st Generation COW. Every time the government revises the COW it becomes a new "generation". The Seventh Generation COW is now being considered by the legislative departments involved. Wayne
