If I put an offer on anything, it will be low and probably will be rejected and then later they may regret not taking it when I come back with an even lower offer.

I am working off of the assumption that rent subsidies and/or universal incomes will follow soon if jobs don't come back quickly. They will be forced to do this to prevent angry mobs from burning everything. Property values will dive from delinquencies, but then recover quickly as renters/owners get money shoved into their pockets one way or another and as the Feds finally succeed and overshoot at generating inflation.

A Great Depression scenario with long time depressed property values just isn't going to happen now that the magic money button has been made available for everyone in DC and their dogs to press anytime they get an urge.
