Regarding TI's news release about their new DSP based DMT chip. What was big news in that release that no one else seemed to pick up, was the fact that this new chip can be upgraded to the new G.lite standard by SOFTWARE. A talented engineer would "probably" figure out a way to use the bandwidth to the modems to update these chips to the latest standards without pulling them out of service. Wouldn't that be handy???? DMT is basically the new standard, and a fast way to update to the standard when it is completed!!!! I personally like the sound of that. And who did TI say would use these chips in that anouncement??? Good ol WSTL!!!
