I thought the marches would end after Floyd's funeral. Maybe there's extra energy cuz there aren't many spectator sports to distract us. Regardless, they're working. Cities and states are revising policies.

Apparently there has never been a limitation of statues.

President Trump is indicating he will be authorizing the government to arrest anyone caught trying to tear down monuments or statues, with them being subject to a 10-year prison sentence.

It is one thing for Trump not understanding that Finland is not a part of Russia, but him not knowing our nation’s history is asking a little much. Considering that rioting and tearing down monuments and statues is literally a foundation right of our founding fathers and citizens had sought. At least on July 9th, 1776 where they immediately applied their rights for such events.

A signed and officially approved Declarations of Independence document made its way to New York City on July 9th, 1776. Standing in front of the city hall and before a large gathering of New York City citizens, one General George Washington, read the contents of this foundational document declaring our freedom from British rule. Upon hearing this declaration document, the crowds basically began to riot and destroy property with the climaxing event being the tearing down of a statue. The monument to one King George III. Later, the destroyed monument was melted down and made into cannon balls and ammunition for the revolutionary army.
