Lehman raised 12-month share price target to $63 from $55. based on profits in the core chip business that were higher than previously est.
Says chip profitability is rapidly improving and the company has an opportunity to reduce profit-dragging annual corporate expense by up to $200 mill. or .30 cents per share.
Maintained buy rating as well as 98' earnings est. of $.24 but cut 99' outlook to $3.55 from $3.75. Has year 2000 at $4.20.

<..LONG LIVE THE BULL..> TXN presents at NBMO in about 30 minutes. 30min presentation, 30 minute breakout. I'll report newsworthy updates I get during or shortly after. I suspect they will put on a good show.

On the DRAM side, looks like Korean channels may be flushed. Several weeks back, spot SIMMs dates were up to six months back. This week dates were from last week (w/prices around $4). If there was to have been more dumping (meeting Jan payroll), I would have expected it to occur by now.
