The downgrade was from Strong Buy to Buy. So what they still feel it is a BUY.

As far as I know, none or almost none of the brokerages even knew about the US West news. I talked to a couple buddies yesterday who talked to their broker, and they said "What news?". Another thing from reading the article is that fact that they mention "a phasing out" of PairGain products, not direct termination. Seems minor.

Currently there are total of 18 Brokerage Firms following PAIR. As 1/24/98, 7 of them are S.Buy, 10 of them are Buy and 1 is Hold. If no onther downgrades after H&Q's, I don't think we need to worry that much. This my opinion.
