I apologize for using internet shorthand.

<g> stands for "grin", (meaning said with a smile, or in a friendly way).
LOL means Laughing Out Loud. (a way of saying "I mean this only
as a joke").

I see the <g> or <bg> (big grin) on some threads here. But Laughing
Out loud is not normally used. Of course, I do not normally talk about my wife. <bg>
