The Saharan dust has reached eastern Kansas. That's almost as far west as it'll get.
Had a 30 minute dust storm roll through here yesterday. It came from a storm system over western Kansas.
Very gritty and much too bulky to be carried more than a couple hundred miles. Lower altitude stuff.
I found myself explaining to a couple people that it was Kansas dust...not the dreaded Saharan variety.
All we got was a brownish sunset.
