More than 40% of Americans cannot afford a $400 emergency car repair. Until that is rectified, I couldn't care less about maintaining the purity of the capitalist system. It is true that the USA is a land of opportunity in a way, but there is also an alarming number of people who are not making it and barely making ends meat. The system needs to bend and adjust to include the increasing number of have nots too. There were some interesting ideas during the primary about a universal basic income, which I found interesting.
