>You refer to mistakes you made in the past, this may be a new one for the future.

Hmmm, somewhat of a cheap shot. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has stubbornly held a stock that continues to slide because emotions/ego rather than rational logic controlled my actions.

>Short term it is hard to predict which way it will go, but the bounce to (currently) 165/8 and the rumor of a possible takeover/buyout, makes it very unwise being short here.

Buyout rumors seem to fly anytime a stocks price gets low. Seldom does anything materialize. Also management and shareholders may reject the idea, especially if the offer is below what they paid (or what they perceive is the stocks' true worth)

>Seems to me that the report of yesterday shows everything I would want to hear about a company I own in terms of aggressively addressing problems.

Yep, management seems to be on top of things, I still feel that despite their best efforts there is not much they can do. I just don't see the kind of revenues that justify this stock valuation in their future. Regardless of how much they cut expenses: that doesn't generate sales.

>If Monday morning we hear Orcl is buying Nscp at 25+, it will hurt you badly.

Of course I have thought of this. I think the odds are low and worth the risk. I'd be happy to close my position at 12. Do you really think Oracle would spend 2B to get into the browser/server market? I think they already bump heads with MS enough in the database arena.

I certainly didn't bet the farm on this, nor do I think this is a no-brainer short. Some of the bullish sentiment here struck me as off-base and I'm just trying to understand where its coming from and provide some opposing views.

Cheers
Pete
