To all-4th 1/4 results Sales=354mil..+30%,net income after tax=77 mil. +31%,that's 2/3 million per day in net income. Diluted net earnings=42 cents per share +31% from one year ago. Titan and Martis were both up 42%. Expenses were 117 mil+43%(R&D,new people,new plants ,SAP). Recievables were 81 mil.,but accts are healthy. R & D was 47 mil.,13.4% of gross,on target.
For the 1997 year, sales were 1.2 bill.+39%(with 2/3sales USA and 1/3 international.) Goal of 2 billion by 2000, is on track,and they are ahead of schedule. Net income was 263 mill. +123%, includes 20 mil. from sale of stock. 1996 net was down,due to 54 mil.R&D write off for Steinbrecher purchase. Diluted earnings=$1.42per share=up 123% vs. 64 cents per share last year.1996 net earnings was really 94 cents per share ,due to one time write off of R and D purchase.
The true increase of +51% in net income per share. Cash and investments=487 mil. with long term liab=17 mil.
Titan digital cross connect,was projected at 30% increase but ended up +54%( a robust market). Martis was up +48 %, with main drivers being cellular and wireless growth, business networks, national networks. They are winning 3 out of 4 tenders and just hitting their stride. Their partnership with Erickson 'til 2004 helps. Echo cancellers were up 31%and cablespan was 9 mil.with 40 mil expected in 1998.

I'm sure glad I didn't scam on your TLAB short pick as you accuse me of, Chip!

But, hang on, Chip! I'm sure it'll turn down sometime. The best thing to do with a short position that goes the wrong way is to just wait it out. ;)

ABTX was the only short you've recently posted that actually made sense. I'm glad I played it, too bad you abandoned it.

While you lucked-out on CREAF, shorting on the eve of earnings was just plain dumb - just as dumb as buying a stock on the eve of earnings - spinning a roulette wheel.

Good luck to the TLAB longs - looks like there won't be an opportunity to test the support levels below 45, as it's not going to get there. Close at 52 is my guess at this point.
