That is an honest reevaluation. I agree with the essence of your argument. That the virus washes through whatever you do. When the critical mass of infections has not hit, republicans seem right. When the peak has passed democrats become overly careful. When the bulk of the infection happened in February, NY City was partying like normal. And a lots of New Yorkers survived the infection wave without social distancing or masks. Only the chinese students were wearing masks. But they do that even in normal times.

When masks were needed, very few were wearing them. When the worst was over people became more religious about wearing them.
