Phil,
I've made tons of money just holding ORCL for the past 3 years.

They have missed quarters before. That is not a big problem. What pissed me off was the fact that Larry either knowingly or unknowingly misguided investors. If he did so knowingly, he is a liar. If the latter, he does not know enough about his own company. Either way he comes out looking stupid. If you don't know about something it is better to keep shut than make a fool of yourself and misguide others.

I was pissed that the value of my holding was halved because I relied on what he said. I do not trust him anymore.

Financially he may not be a looser, but he is looser in his battle with Gates. MSFT has never ever missed a quarter. I would rather invest in a winning company like that.
