I don't get into food fights of dividends versus total return, value vs. growth, etc. All sides can be hardcore.

My goal was to have 20k of income coming in each year so I could give it away without having to sell
anything. Have years before thinking about RMDs. I try to look at all sides and make my decisions.

It can be hard to find good information on what people are actually doing. Mostly they only share
snippets of the good things that happen in their portfolios. You can't even look at previous months on DVKs
portfolio any longer.

I've had dividend stocks and former dividend stocks that have kicked my butt this year, yet I currently have
a slightly green portfolio. Looking at this guys portfolio as a whole, you would think he would be doing better.

Looking at his holdings of mostly dividend growth investing favorites I am surprised.

I could not agree more. The market is almost never rational. If it was, you wouldn't see PE ratios like we see today. The DOW and S&P 500 have PE ratios of about 25. That's insane! I'm retired and I live off social security and my dividend income (currently a little over $11,000/month average). It's a nice feeling watching those dividends roll in, knowing I don't have to sell stocks to generate an income stream.
