j,
I don't think I ever said I didn't believe $3.50 could happen. If you take my numbers and comments on my opinions of Q1 and Q2 that are about $0.50 each and take the higher end of the seasonal ratio, 20% rev in Q1 & Q2 vs. 80% yearly rev in Q3 & Q4, (so Q1 and Q2 =$1.00 = 20%), we end up at $4.00. If you use the lower end 30% vs. 70% and same Q1, Q2 est. eps, it comes down to $2.33 est 98' eps.
Big difference, I think I'll wait to go out on the limb untill I see Q1. Will say again, there is a hell of a lot of room to be wrong and have a hell of a good year ( as in a double in earnings over 97').
Go for it j, I'm not bocking at $3.00 +. Just want to see one of the worst quarters of the year before I assess the whole year further then this.
