After the driver, a 59-year-old father of three, asked them to vacate the bus, the gang violently punched and kicked him repeatedly, leaving him brain-dead. Several unnamed “youths”, who are known to the police, have been arrested in the assault. Philippe Monguillot’s fellow drivers, his wife Véronique, along with thousands in the town have staged protests.
