If it turns out that a vaccine is out, then the best medical science will likely be able to do in the intermediate term is a cocktail of antiviral drugs as is done in the treatment of folks with HIV. Unfortunately, that might be a solution that might not be perfected for 20 or 30 years. Hopefully much sooner.
