Oh, yeah. I remember getting that Nat Geo and seeing the deep holes people were digging in the jungle floor. Things were pretty good for gold after the implosion over 2008 and 2009. Made a some trades in 2010 or 2011 that enabled me to avoid selling my home in a divorce sale. Unfortunately, I bought more. Long gold cycle seems to be getting back in a good place. Bought a 19th century gold coin about 1990. The broker drove me crazy, and I sold it back within a year. If that broker had been less pushy, I would probably be closer to your gold investment style and have some nice coins long term. Big fan of St Gaudens work on coins and in museums.
