In case anyone is mixed up (as I was) about which markets were open:

Please excuse formatting problems:

SINGAPORE, Jan 28 (Reuters) - Financial markets in many
Asian countries are closed for part or all of this week due to
the Chinese Lunar New Year, Moslem Eid al-Fitr festivals or
other holidays.
The following is a list of trading days in Asian markets
over the next week:
* Markets in Japan and the Philippines will trade as usual
* Taiwan's stock market was closed on Monday. The foreign
exchange and money markets remained open for their final day of
pre-holiday trading. Government offices will be closed from
Tuesday. All Taiwan markets will resume trading on February 2.
* Singapore's stock and commodity exchanges will close from
midday on Tuesday and remain closed through the rest of the
week. SIMEX will trade currency and Nikkei as usual.
* All Indonesian financial markets will be closed on
Thursday and Friday, January 29 and 30.
* South Korean financial markets will close on Tuesday,
January 27. Trading will resume January 30.
* Malaysian stock markets will close on Tuesday but debt and
foreign exchange markets will have one more day of pre-holiday
trading, closing on Wednesday, January 28. All Malaysian
financial markets will reopen on Tuesday, February 3.
* The Hong Kong stock market will close after a half day
session on Tuesday, at 12:30. The Hong Kong gold market will be
closed Tuesday through Friday. The Hong Kong debt and forex
markets will trade as usual on Tuesday and close for the New
Year on Wednesday. All Hong Kong markets will reopen on Monday,
February 2.
* The Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock
Exchange were closed on Monday. Both markets will be closed for
two weeks for the holidays and trading will resume on February
9. The Shanghai Metal Exchange was also closed on Monday for the
new year holidays. Trading will resume on February 4.
* Australian financial markets were closed on Monday for
Australia Day. Markets will resume trading on Tuesday.
*In New Zealand, Auckland businesses and banks were closed
on Monday for Auckland Anniversary Day. New Zealand markets will
close on Friday, February 6 to mark Waitangi Day.
* India's stock exchanges, banks and government were closed
on Monday for Republic Day. The exchanges, banks and government
will also close on Friday, January 30 for a Moslem festival.
* In Bangladesh stock and forex markets will close on
Tuesday, January 27. The markets will also be closed January 29,
30 and 31 for the Eid al-Fitr festival.
* Sri Lanka's foreign exchange market will be closed on
Friday, January 30.
* Pakistan markets were closed on Monday the 27th day of
Ramadan marking the first revelation of the Koran.
* Vietnam markets will be closed from Tuesday, January 27
through January 29.
