Los Angeles has not been around for very long but I live in a 99 year old home built in 1921 when the population of Los Angeles was about 580,000. Today the City of Los Angeles has a population of 4 million. I live about one mile from the Wilshire Country Club and about two miles from where my parents grew up. - shorturl.at My parents moved to northern California near Berkeley when I was six and remained there. I moved back to Los Angeles in the mid-1980s. When my great-grandmother built her home in what is now West Hollywood in 1913, the population of Los Angeles was about 320,000. I've show you her modern looking home when it was finished in 1913 (below colorized). At the time the area was alfalfa and poinsettia fields. Today that home is a large apartment building. I've been all around the world but I've never moved anywhere else. My great-grandmother sitting on the grass in the front-center, age 20 ? perhaps making this 1898 in Ouchy Switzerland. My great-grandmother about age 80 and 1958. The year before I had kicked her leg after she pushed me off her lap. She then smiled, nodded approval and applauded My Mom, with me holding my little sister, in 1958 with my Uncle holding my cousin - less than 2 miles from where I live now.
