<1/4 price rise for me (on 2000 shares) = $500 - $59 = $441.

A lot better. What's the likelihood of accomplishing that at least once a day? >

Not bloody likely. You see, you may accomplish this for a few
days, then one day one of your trades is gonna fall off the
table and you'll lose what you gained, plus some of your own
capital.

You're much better off buying powerful growing companies
with great management and plenty of room for expansion
of their products. Compaq is an excellent choice. Then go
enjoy whatever your other hobbies are, and when you pick
up the paper in a year to see what the price of CPQ is you
will likely be pleased. Microsoft isn't a bad bet either.

Andreas - Back in the Sept/Oct timeframe I was daytrading blocks of CPQ (8-10k shares). The stock would move a point plus on most days, so you could make good money on it. The problem is that on occasion I would be out when the stock moved 12 points in a couple of days. It's just better to buy it and hold on, you catch small increments but miss the big payoff when the stock moves. Good luck,

John
