I think both were great presidents and they were both criminals. There's nothing in the Constitution that gives a president the power to buy land but that's what he did. After the deed was done he asked Congress for the money. In his defense, he was ready to pass a Constitutional Amendment to give him this power if Congress balked. Lincoln was also a criminal. He bought votes in Congress, even the really, really important votes.
