Longnshort, the funny thing is that Keith Ellison has a point, though it's not the kind of point that he would want to make.

At the moment of the sexual assault, the police aren't going to be there in time. YOU are responsible for your own self-defense.

Hence Ellison gives a wonderful defense of the Second Amendment. Oops.

On the other hand, the police are there to look for and capture the POS rapist. And what if the POS rapist is a black man who resists arrest? The police's hands will be completely tied.

That's now "defunding the police" will increase crime. Police could never prevent the actual commission of a crime in the moment, but they're there to pursue and capture the suspect. Without the capacity to do that, criminals will be much less deterred than ever before.

We're already seeing the effects of that, but the mainstream media continues to be in sheer denial, even going as far as to blame the rise of gun purchases.
