I second Morpher's query regarding trying to cancel getting stuck. Can be quite frustrating not knowing where one stands.

At least, could someone explain why this happens. Lasts for hours occassionally.

thanks much

Morpher,

Your post to Peter Stern and Jon Normille expresses my feeling exactly on many issues.

Regarding: - Why are SPY orders not handled between 16:00 and 16:15? Why no 1/32nd's 1/64th's on SPY and no 1/64th's on Nasdaq?

I spoke on the phone with a rep about these issues. They said you can place orders in increments of less than 1/16 if you phone your order in, so apparently it's a software problem. However even a phone order won't get you an order to the floor after 16:00. I don't know of any other broker that doesn't allow trading SPY till 16:15.

Datek still has very fast execution and order entry speed. But it seems they are falling behind other online brokers in many areas that they used to lead.
