>>>t's like the distaste Americans have for people who stick necessary e's on the end of words like old (olde) and shop (shoppe). So, in order to make a buck... please don't open a store by the name of "Olde LSI Fibre Channel Shoppe", or it may get torched....<<<<<
Probably somebody has already jumped on this. If not then I have to ask "what is all this"----"Barineau " No extra vowels in here, right?

Daniel while looking to find out something about the market size I came across this - the reason why it's fibre and not fiber: (a bit o a lame excuse but an excuse nevertheless)

Q: Why does Fibre Channel spell fiber as fibre?

Ans: Fibre Channel was originally designed to support fibre optic
cabling only. When copper support was added to its feature set some
years ago, an ISO (International Standards Organization) task force
decided to rename the technology. The committee decided to change
the spelling of Fiber, to the French spelling Fibre, to reduce the
association with fiber optics while maintaining the name recognition of
the Fiber Channel technology.
