U S West to use Cisco equipment Reuters Story - January 28, 1998 09:29 %TEL %ENT %US USW CSCO V%REUTER P%RTR SAN JOSE, Calif, Jan 28 (Reuters) - U S WEST Communications said it has designated Cisco Systems Inc as its strategic vendor for data network infrastructure and resale of customer-premise equipment (CPE). The companies said they signed a memorandum of understanding to form an alliance to support U S WEST's plans for deploying next-generation network services to businesses and consumers nationwide. U S WEST will extensively use Cisco equipment in a nationwide build-out of an integrated voice-data network, and in its integration services for customers.
