Paul,

Knowing the non-transparency of dealings in Japan, it seems the danger is that things are much worse there than it appears on the surface. Possible then that Japan may not even be in a position to eventually "do the right thing" and liberate their economy to act as an engine of growth for the rest of Asia. Or simply to supply liquidity.

The freeing of their economy has been one of the few potential positives on the horizon, in my opinion.

No sign of a peso devaluation in Mazatlan, or in the day to day action of the peso's trading. Short term gyrations do seem to follow the US stock market, interestingly enough.
