The garden sounds like it belongs to a great farmer . You might be 50 miles north of me but from where we are on the Continent our climates can vary .

My local area has had 1 rain since june 1 . Fortunately it was big about a week ago . Monday we get another and crops are saved .

The maples here are hard woods messy only with keys unless it is the soft river bottom maples . No keys are dramatic and possibly a statement .

Covers over the troughs are a must for guys in their 70's .

Live in an area infested with squirrels . They bite the ends off everything but Kale . Which they leave to the ground hogs who when can devour the tops . lol

In fairness to the squirrels they learn so fast and show respect for my sling shot skill that after a week or 2 of rough stuff they walk around my no go zones .

Newbie to farming .

Cheers !
