It's here now. DVC which is full res. digital 704x480 (same as DVD)
is available for 699 (sharp view cam) this camera has S-video or composite out as well as firewire to a pc. You can shoot video
and encode the s-video from the camera through DAZZLE and get some pretty amazingly good quality mpeg that you can store on a CDR . S-video as a source is much better that just hooking up a regular 8mm camcorder or TV.
Later, When Cube announces the DVC to MPEG transcoding capabilities, the possibilities will be endless. Imagine, DVD authoring video from many sourses including DVC and burn a CDR or DVDram.
(Just because it is DVD MPEG or MPEG 2 material, doesnt mean you cant store 30 min of MPEG 2 full res. on a CD. CDRs are only $1.50 and the CDR burners will be going down in price as DVDram tries to hit their price points next year.) CDR ...$200 DVDRam...500?????
It will be interesting.
