John,
There is obviously a contingent of HEC players who are playing the "earnings and cash flow" gambit. Then there are those of us who are playing the "find the elephant" game. Our game will climax before theirs even begins. Whatever the reason for playing HEC, it is a good play. I would like to think those of us "in the business" have a little edge just from first hand knowledge of how things happen in our business. However, I know that there is no "edge" to be had in playing this type of stock, due to the huge number of variables that enter into making the stock move. So with that said, I can only claim to have tried to eliminate as much of the risk as I possibly can. Whether or not they "find the elephant", it is a good play.
Its just like drilling a well for myself....I don't drill it unless its worth the risk.
I do wish that DJC would have been more specific about his private information. Kinda dangled a carrot out there in front of us, packed his bags, and left town. Of course, he was a "cash flow" guy
Keep Smilin'
Rod.
