Tom, re: "
Semi's were up today because Lehman's analyst said DRAM prices should increase in the near
term. This news boosted AMAT, Texas Instruments, MU, LSI, etc."

Isn't that a joke? LSI doesn't even make DRAM. As often happens, they get dragged along with MU anyway. Not complaining though when it's up!

More fun contributing here again since LSI appears to be on its way (hopefully).

Tony

Yes re: DRAM it looks like the Korean inventory dump appears over. But I don't follow that close enough to know when DRAM prices will reverse. Or when they will stabilize. The way DRAM works though with the ridiculously low levels the chips have gone to no wonder everyone's excited. Explains TXN and MU correctly. Others are going along for the ride. Noted many Japanese shifting to higher 64 Mb DRAM. May have had something to do with the price recovery of the 16 Mb as well. MU does a lot of these 16 Mbs I think. Maybe rational... Must've scared the shorts (pants) off the shorts...

Recall seeing a forecast of lower prices over the next few months. And there is still serious overcapacity in DRAMs. But hey no complaints from me.
