"Wounded Giant".

Great article - if a bit depressing. Thanks for posting. ..........My take is we are each on our own. Without meaningful leadership at the top, strategies to help are all over the place and largely meaningless. Even testing now I have decided is just about worthless based on comments from Bill Gates. If you can't get results almost immediately what good are the results? ........Even the vaccine may be problematic. Again without a strategy from the federal government what will results be from a vaccine that is maybe only 50% effective and will be but one of many competing vaccines available? I can see the ads now!.........The last sentence in the article will be the one that stays with me;

“This is not a once-in-a-century event. It’s a harbinger of things to come.”

The New York Times fired maybe the most experienced journalist in hot zone pandemics - in the middle of an actual pandemic - because some student 10 years ago said he discussed the N word on a retreat.

Then his replacement came in and immediately called the lab leak theory a racist conspiracy.

Notice that JohnM likes McNeil a lot, but when McNeil was cancelled, JohnM was silent.
