From a Portland poster: For my non-Portland friends, and especially those of you who might be getting your news from conservative-leaning sources, I can confirm that this is true. Outside of that tiny area of Portland, you would never know anything other than normal life (or at least as normal as can be in this COVID era) was happening. Portland is not under seige from "violent anarchists," and the feds are not protecting anybody from anything, they're just here to try to make Trump look tough to his base. I'd encourage you to check your sources carefully, and/or reach out to friends who live in Portland to find out what's really happening here- because it's not like what you're seeing in the news.
