<<BTW, I paid a visit the other day to IOM's "Mobile Storage Division" located just outside San Diego. (Not too far from HP's facilities, Ken) They just moved into a larger building and are in the midst of an aggressive hiring campaign>>

Evening Bill, good to see you here as well, anything to pick-up morale on this thread is welcome. :-) Thanks for the CNBC info. As to the above paragraph, what were your observations during the visit? Did ya talk to any company officals?

>>Tonight I saw the Hitachi MPEG camera demonstratrated on CNBC (I think the show was The Edge). Anyway, the camera has a small hard drive in it. The demonstrator took a video of Sue Herrara and then played it back on his laptop. If I am not mistaken he said that the hard drive was removable. Anyway, this camera sells for $2,200 and is being marketed to business people who want to put some video in their presentations. It is also the camera that is being talked about using clik! in the future.<<

Bill -

Obviously no digital camera could have a hard drive. Haven't you read Ken's posts? The power draw would be prohibitive. ;-)

<< this camera sells for $2,200 and is being marketed to business
people who want to put some video in their presentations >>

This is almost meaningless. You guys miss my point completely.
What good will the Clik! be if it only sells to the 5 people who
would spend this much money?

What I'm saying is that for the CLIK! to be successful it must
be used in the CONSUMER electronics area. PDAs, LOW END cameras,
cell phones, etc... The needs of this market need to be met, not
the $2,200 appliances. I'm not at all saying this won't happen,
what I'm saying is that there is a very, very long bridge to cross
to make this happen.
