Plough Houghton Mifflin, Plate on pagr 15 Plates and write up on page 112Remarks : " Sphalerite is the principle ore of ZINC. It alters... . Impurities recovered in smelting -Gallium, Indium, and Cadmium- make it also the chief ore of those metals.
Distinguishing Chara: When it is very black its high luster and easy cleavage gives it a resemblance to Galena, but the light streak , the powder , and blowpipe test suffice for this distinction. Occurance: Same as Galena ( and us USAers add- sounds Hillariarious! For this weeks extra comments! Send some easy cleavage samples to me to hand to the wife!)
