Look at election maps. Every state the Republicans control are gerrymandered to virtually the block level. While there are some states Democrats control that are heavily gerrymandered, Maryland being the poster child, most Democratically controlled states are nowhere near as bad. In fact, several Democratically controlled states have non-partisan commissions that draw up the election map. I don't think any Republican controlled states do that.

The fact that some Democratically controlled states may have done it centuries ago is no justification. And no, the USSC does not get involved. And in fact recently refused to do anything about it regardless of how egregious.
