So you a\re as informed as a tree. Gotcha. Pretty much no one else considers Harris county to be Central Texas, south or otherwise. It makes zero sense if you look at a map. Beaumont is definitely East Texas and it is only 90 miles from Houston. Just to take one example. Which is closer to Harris county, Austin or Beaumont? I will wait.
