Well just to make fair.. I just closed my Best Buy account.
I will be buying elsewhere for all products.
(And I let them know this, I suggest others do the same).

Best Buy's no longer selling Macintosh is good news to AAPL investors.

Bust Bye made no effort to sell Macs locally. [Fort Smith, AR] For MONTHS they left a Performa on display with the case broken. Any offered statements or questions indicating that the customer was MacCentric resulted in salesperson as crayfish (continuously trying to get away).

I even tried to buy their close-out Mac merchandise and was stonewalled even before getting around to price. And to think of the full price I paid for their Pitiful Mac software offerings. Tich... tich.

Good hunting,

HerbVic

P.S. I tried to post this on Yahoo's AAPL BBS, but it does not seem to be working. Apologies to readers of both boards if it shows up.

Apple (AAPL.O) exits many stores

Apple said that sales of Macintosh hardware has jumped to 13 percent of total hardware sales at CompUSA, from three percent previously, since the Apple stores were launched.

"We are thrilled by the reception of the new Apple store concept in our computer superstores," said CompUSA president and chief executive Jim Halpin in a statement. "We look forward to making CompUSA the Apple headquarters for America."

Apple said it will continue to offer products at 3,500 other locations in the U.S., through regional retail chains, specialized Apple dealers, computer dealers, value-added resellers and catalogs.

The status of Apple software at retailers other than CompUSA may
depend on the level of sales at those various retailers.
