Good job! Honestly, if they haven't thought up that approach they should be ashamed of themselves.

When you adjust for inflation, fifty dollars was alot of money in 1712 and if the intent of the law was to prevent financial devastation of a family by one of its members having a bad day at a gaming table I would say it would probably make sense. However, in 1998, fifty dollars represents a trip to the movies and a pizza on the way home.
Let's hope common sense prevails.
