Re << what about the 1900-1950 'chaos'(?) period of your parents/grandparents etc. ?>> Hard to say, my guess be that this time w/ a big difference, that the damage primarily in the pocket book, not bricks and concrete, and all are volunteered, tee-ed up for self-sacrifice, that which we can call financial-nail-gunned, if we are lucky. If not, Stone Age beckons. In any case there does not appear to be enough gold to save everyone, and 20 stocks in each of several main domains does not cut it as shelters because no paper shelters shall stand.
