Well, Carol, you have to keep changing the subject around here or everyone might get bored. Perhaps we will wax poetic on the subject of fruit next week!! I still don't really have a parakeet poem, but I spent a fun afternoon at the library with my daughter, reading newsmagazines. Boy, you don't have to have a functional nose to realize that there is a bad smell coming out of Washington. I still have not figured out exactly what I think about it all.

I saw the url for your very interesting art gallery. I like this one:

birchgallery.mb.ca

I wish I were there right now!! It is so wet here that I am afraid the oil paintings are being damaged by the humidity. Do you know anything about keeping them safe?

Do you have a nice metaphysical poem you would like to share here? There was poetry at the Feelings thread before the poetry thread came into being, and it is much welcomed here--including your own creations.

I am not sure what to say about Johnny. I think his blunt language might have pretty much turned you off, as it did the owners of SI, but when his thread was going strong all of SI's best and brightest thinkers used to visit there, and it was a fascinating place to be. Sugar Magnolia used to write sad and silly poems over there, as well. She really felt at home there.

Through the miracles of electronic archiving, you do not have to miss
Johnny's spirit, or all the exciting ideas that swirled around there. In your spare time, you can read it from beginning to end if you want to!
